STACY KIRK was trained in film-making and painting as well as photography, graduating from TCU with a  B.A. in photography under the watchful eye of Luther Smith.  She went on to complete her MFA at the School of Visual Arts in New York City, and finally her degree in Film from Vancouver Film School.  Her work has been seen around the globe, including Berlin and Vancouver, and a debut of her first feature film, “Barbeque: A Love Story” at South By SouthWest.

Her subjects were sometimes random gifts from local gardeners and neighbors or donations from florists, while others were more carefully selected during walks around Vancouver with her dog.   She was obsessed with digital technology and worked with a fellow Canadian camera enthusiast to customize an 8 inch by 10 inch digital camera built by hand before larger manufacturers introduced such tools to the public at large.  This allowed her to finally bring a painter’s vision to photographer’s craft.
